The Middle Eastern Culture and Dance Association (MECDA) is a group that works for you! Created in 1977. MECDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community as a source of education, communication, promotion, and inspiration for the near and middle east music, dance, and arts community worldwide. Our members include dancers, musicians, artists, and other persons interested in Near East and Middle Eastern culture, music, dance, and arts. Our goal is to bring a sense of unity to a richly diverse community as well as celebrate the culture and its arts. Join us in bringing the community together and working as a whole.

It's that time of year to vote for Central Board offices. Please take a moment to review the campaign statements and then click on the link below to vote for each office. There are also two documents re-written by the Ethics committee that are to be voted on this year. Please review those as well, either on our website or on the voting ballot. "What was your favorite thing about Cairo Caravan 2010?"

Everything! There's dancing, shopping, the drums outside, all in a unique and interesting venue. It's wonderful to see all the different dancers and groups perform all day, the variety and see what's new out in the world of belly dance; I liked that there were a few more groups doing traditional folk and did their own singing and music- that was great.  ~Christine Young
