MECDA Membership
What is available currently for MECDA members:
- The Happenings is a monthly web based magazine whose link will be Emailed to the membership. It contains listings of upcoming events, classified ads, news items, and class announcements. International Members will receive the same monthly happenings links via email.
- In addition to the Happenings Magazine membership will receive discounts on admission into MECDA events such as the Cairo Caravan, MECDA chapter workshops, MECDA's anniversary party and discounts from participating vendors and participating local chapter events.
- FREE Happenings listing of your event or performance. MECDA has a wide readership which means more publicity!
- MECDA's annual Directory of teachers, vendors and related businesses is available online. FREE basic listing in the directory for your business or class.
- MECDA sponsored dance parties and events in your area. This is a chance to socialize with other dancers, take workshops and perform.
- Early Notification of MECDA events.
- A chance to participate in raising funds and much needed items for MECDA's charities such as the fight against domestic abuse against women as well as Healing Through Dance.
- Scholarship Opportunities for learning and extending knowledge of Middle Eastern Dance.

5 for 1 Membership Drive
Introducing MECDA’s “Five for One” Membership Drive! Thinking about becoming a member of the nationally recognized non-profit organization Middle Eastern Culture and Dance Association (MECDA)? Want some friends to join with you so you can enjoy the benefits of MECDA events, such as Cairo Caravan, together? Well get ready for an extra incentive: The “Five for One” Membership Drive.
Refer five (5) new members and receive a one (1) year FREE membership! New members are defined as someone who has never been a MECDA member OR a MECDA member whose membership has been expired for at least one (1) year.
And YOU do not need to be a current member to participate and receive a free year’s membership! You don’t have to have been a previous member or instructor either. You simply need to refer five (5) new members. After confirming your five (5) referrals, the Membership Officer will contact you with your new one (1) year’s membership! Already a current member? You can still refer 5 members and have an extra FREE year tacked on to your current membership. So make sure you provide your current contact information and full legal name.
